For the Winnetka primary bathroom tub replacement, we addressed a leaking and outdated tub that was too large for comfort and unsafe to use. We carefully investigated materials to blend with the original 2006 installation and selected a proportionally sized tub for one person. We reused the luxury faucet and customized a tub drain control for accessibility. To enhance functionality, ease of use, and safety, we added steps and  a bench.. We sourced multiple locations and slabs to find the best quartzite top match and dozens of tiles to blend with the field. Full under-tub waterproofing and a water sensor connected to the house system were installed to prevent future leaks. We added new mosaic tile to the risers up to the tub deck and lightened the overall aesthetic to eliminate the dark, heavy feel of the original wood deck alcove.
