The BDS team recently transformed a dated, dark, and disjointed kitchen in Libertyville into a functional and beautiful space. The homeowners had issues with a freezing water line and a cold atmosphere in the winter, as well as a poor work triangle and troublesome meal preparation.The BDS team designed a new kitchen with a new beam in the ceiling, removing most of the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room. This created an open and connected feel between the two spaces. We also reconfigured the location of appliances, sink, and seating, improving the overall functionality of the kitchen. A walk-around island now provides ample storage, seating, and space for appliances. To enhance convenience, we installed a command center on the wall near the entrance, serving as a drop zone for personal items and electronics. We also remodeled the adjacent laundry room to coordinate with the kitchen's flooring and colors. The kitchen and laundry floors were upgraded with heated flooring beneath the tile. The BDS team was able to create a space that is now bright, functional, and just what our homeowners were looking for.
