Our Libertyville homeowners came to the BDS team when their kitchen no longer reflected their style and lacked the pantry storage they needed. Due to a previous owner's renovation that removed two load-bearing walls that had been supporting the second floor, there were some major issues leading to settling and cracking. Our team preserved the existing cabinets helping maximize the homeowners' investment while reducing waste. A structural solution was developed to install a new steel beam and support posts, restoring the home's integrity without sacrificing the open-concept design or requiring a soffit or additional walls. To enhance functionality, we seamlessly integrated new cabinetry with the existing cabinets and designed a unique hidden pantry tucked behind a pass-through cabinet. Accessible only through this concealed entrance, the pantry provides generous storage while maintaining the kitchen's clean, streamlined appearance. The BDS team installed new appliances and added fresh paint on all cabinetry. New updated countertops, backsplash, sink, and undercabinet task lighting were also added to complete the upgraded kitchen. The result is a beautiful, structurally sound kitchen that blends thoughtful design and improved functionality into a space the homeowners can enjoy with confidence for years to come.
