Basement remodels are often the most cost-friendly ways to add usable square footage to your home in the form of bedrooms, family room, and hobby areas. Our clients for this Libertyville remodel allowed our BDS team to come in and create a family room, guest bedroom, and refinish a laundry room. They were looking for simple and practical design to best fit their family’s needs. The BDS team created a cozy family room off the stairwell with ample amounts of seating, a large screen TV and plenty of custom cabinetry to create storage to keep them organized. Custom trim work and a new banister and rail were installed as well as a specialized, lift-up seat to allow for additional storage space. The flooring was redone with a rich, engineered hardwood flooring to provide practical and beautiful finish. Lighting can often be one of the biggest problems in a basement, so with plenty of windows, fluorescent lighting and runway lights, we were able to turn this Libertyville basement remodel into a bright and open family space.
