This Libertyville unfinished basement was dark, lacked character, and even lacked flooring. Most importantly, this basement wasn’t being used to its full potential. The homeowners wanted to transform the space into a comfortable, functional extension of their home. The existing bedroom had no adjoining bathroom, exercise equipment was scattered throughout the space, and there was no dedicated area for watching TV. To bring the basement to life, we added much-needed additional lighting, finished the three-piece bathroom to complement the bedroom, and created a dedicated TV area with room for comfortable seating. We also added built-in shelving in the mechanical room to provide organized storage for seasonal items and bins. The result is a bright, inviting basement that combines comfort, functionality, and practical storage, transforming an underused space into a welcoming space for everyday living.
